"Behind the Glass" 2003-07 Video Installation The documentation of this work has taken over many years and focus on a societal epidemic that has driven human beings to go through the most invasive surgical procedures to achieve the perfect body. This documentation of beautiful bodies had been filmed in a voyeuristic way; a Video effect has been added to the final work and the audio in the first video was purposely done in a monotonous way and is juxtaposed to a second video in which a Rubenesque/Voluptuous model showers while singing ‘La Vie en Rose” (Life seen trough rose colored glass) The juxtaposition highlights the gap between those comfortable with their bodies and those driven to some societal imposed of perfection. |
